The level of roughness can be designated as a mil profile, Ra, or occasionally as Rz. If the anchor pattern is not rough enough, the coating may not adhere properly and could fail prematurely. If the anchor pattern is too deep, or more rough than required, excessive coating material is required to cover the rough surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anchor pattern or etch pattern creation is accomplished in a blasting process with a sharp media.
